Free MCP preview — Mac + Chrome

Bring your chats to
your AI assistant

Use your own AI agent to interact with your chat portals. Catch up on conversations, find a detail, and see what needs your attention with access you control.

MCP access is free. No ChatVibes paid plan required. Bring a compatible AI agent; its own subscription or model-provider fees may apply.

Public download in preparation

The local bridge is working in development. We’re packaging the companion installer and client setup for others to use. There is no public companion download or ChatGPT directory installation yet.

More context for the questions that matter

Catch up

Ask your assistant to summarize the available messages and highlight decisions or follow-ups.

“What changed while I was away?”

Find the detail

Search captured messages for a plan, link, or conversation you want to revisit.

“Find the plans we discussed for Friday.”

See what’s next

Review the context across conversations you have authorized your assistant to read.

“Which chats need my attention?”

The same extension.
A new connection.

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, gives your chosen AI client a way to request information from ChatVibes.

The preview targets local tasks in compatible ChatGPT desktop/Codex setups. Your client must support local MCP tools; access depends on its version and available features. This is not a universal ChatGPT web integration or a public directory listing.

  1. Use your signed-in browser sessions

The existing ChatVibes Chrome extension reads messaging pages available in your browser. You do not install a second ChatVibes extension.

  2. Connect a separate local companion

A small program on your Mac connects your local AI client to a paired Chrome profile. The public installer and guided setup are still in preparation.

  3. Choose what your assistant can access

MCP starts disabled. Choose platforms and selected conversations, or explicitly allow all conversations on those platforms. Reading and capture are separate permissions.

Bring your own AI. Keep the connection free.

ChatVibes provides the bridge to the chat portals you already use. Your own agent handles the reasoning, summaries, and questions using its chosen AI model. MCP access does not require a ChatVibes AI subscription or Google sign-in to ChatVibes.

Use the AI client and plan that work for you. ChatVibes does not cover fees charged by an independent AI client or model provider. Optional built-in ChatVibes AI plans are not required for this connection.

What the preview covers

Mac + Chrome is the initial release target. Windows support is deferred. Platform behavior is still being verified for public release.

  • Available and captured messages. A complete account archive is not guaranteed. History depends on what the messaging website has loaded, what capture can reach, and what the extension has retained.
  • Some chats need to be opened first. WhatsApp and LinkedIn do not always expose a reliable destination for other inbox rows. When that happens, open the conversation in the browser before asking your assistant to read it.
  • Reading can affect unread state. Opening a conversation or capturing more history may mark messages read or move the chat’s scroll position.
  • Sending is unavailable. Message sending is unimplemented. Draft insertion remains experimental and is not a supported preview feature.

You choose what leaves the browser

The local MCP bridge returns authorized chat data to the client that requested it. The bridge itself does not send those requests through ChatVibes AI or Gemini. Your chosen client may send the results to its own cloud model provider or retain them under its own policies and settings.

ChatVibes cannot make a local-only storage or no-training promise for an independently selected client. Disconnecting or revoking access stops future requests; it does not remove data that client has already received.

Built-in ChatVibes AI analysis remains a separate path through our server to Google Gemini. See support for the differences and controls.
